This is the final step in setting up your Time Off in bob. Import can also be used at any time to import requests for multiple people. For example if you want to pre-book the Christmas leave period for your team.

The easiest way to get started with Time Off is to import this years' requests only. If you want to import your requests as far back as you have records, include them on the import sheet too.

These steps can all be carried out with the pre-formatted spreadsheet. This sheet includes instructions on how to best use it. Once you're armed with a copy of the sheet, you're ready to import time off data to bob.

Navgate to Time Off > Settings to find the Update Time Off Data section.

1. Update Carry Over/Balances

Update carry over
Used to import carry over to a chosen holiday policy (usually the holiday policy). You'll need to import carry over separately, as bob won't apply carry over during the import process. Once you're up and running, bob will apply carry over automatically based on the rules you set during policy creation.

Populate the sheet called 'Carry Over Import' with the relevant information. Click Update Carry over, drag and drop your file and select the correct sheet, match your emails. On the next screen, make sure that your columns match with the corresponding fields in bob. Download the report to troubleshoot errors, if any.

Update balance
Use update balance to grant employees additional days as a one-off action. 


2. Update People's Time Off Requests Importing requests

Update Requests
Used to import requests for each policy and cycle. 

Once you have populated the import sheet, click Update Requests and drop your file and select the correct sheet, match your emails. On the next screen, make sure that your columns match with the corresponding fields in bob. Click import. Download the report to troubleshoot errors, if any.

Update Manually
Launches a simple tool you can use to make requests for specific people. It's great to use when you're making changes for a handful of people only.
