How to set a target headcount

  1. From the left menu, select People > Hiring.
  2. Select Target headcount.

Tip: The Analytics module can help you plan and manage hiring. To learn more, see Getting started with HR KPI Dashboards and Headcount KPI.

  3. From the dropdown menu, select the criteria you want to set hiring goals. This can be by department or job title, for example.

Tip: You can also select a Starting from date in the top right to narrow down the date range for viewing and setting the target headcount.

  4. Click the pencil icon to the left of the row.
  5. Click + Add quarter to add additional consecutive quarters.
  6. Enter the target headcount number for each quarter.
  7. Click Save.

How to manage future hires

  1. From the left menu, select People > Hiring.
  2. Select To be hired.
  3. Click + Add new hire.

Tip: To edit an existing planned hire, select the position. You can also close a job by selecting the position, marking the checkbox Close job, entering the close requirement for the job, then clicking Save. Closed positions are presented in the hiring history section and reduced from the total headcount number in the hiring plan.

  4. Select the Job title, Department, Hiring manager, Site from the dropdown menus, and Scheduled date.
  5. You can also enable Budget approved to mark this position as approved financially and select and enter the Contract type, Salary, Currency type, Bonus, Commission, Pay period, and Options. Mark the checkbox for Replacement if it’s to replace an existing position and person.
  6. Click Save.
These planned hires will appear in a quarterly review of the Hiring Plan section. You can also view planned hires in your Org chart to visualize how your organization will develop. To learn more, see View Org charts.

Tip: Create a custom permission group for hiring managers to view and manage hiring. Enable View the company's hiring plan and Create and edit new jobs in the Company tab of Manage permissions in Roles & Permissions. To learn more, see Create a custom permission group.
