If several people are working towards a similar goal, you can create a goal and simultaneously assign it to multiple people through People's Goals. Doing so creates a copy of the same goal for each of the selected employees, after which they can be managed on an individual basis by the employee and/or by the manager and admin.

Note: Access to this capability is managed by your company's HR admin. If you do not have access and believe you should, reach out to them.

How to create goals for multiple people

To create a goal assigned for one or more people, follow these steps:

  1. Press the Talent area in the main menu

  2. Click on People's Goals

  3. Click on + New goal to create a new goal.

  4. Enter the goal's objective in the Name field

  5. Provide a Description of the objective. This step is optional and can help you and others align on the subject matter when working on multiple goals together

  6. Click on the field under Time frame to set when you'd like to achieve the goal. Choose from two ways:

    a. Preset range:
    i. Choose the desired period from the list
    Note: "Next year" in bob means the January of the next calendar year
    ii. Click Apply
    b. Date range
    i. Click the radio button to the left of Date range
    ii. Click on the field below Start date to select the beginning of your desired date range from the calendar
    c. Click on the field below End date to select the end of your desired date range from the calendar
    d. Click Apply

  7. Click on the dropdown under Assign to to select the people who'd be responsible for this goal
    a. Scroll or search for the people you'd like to assign the goal to
    b. To only view your direct reports, activate the Only direct reports toggle
    c. Tick the boxes to the left of the people you'd like to assign the goal to
    Tip: to select all people, click the ALL box at the top
    d. Click Apply

  8. Select the goal's Visibility

    1. Shared visibility: only visible to people in the organization per the permissions set in the company, and may be accessed using People's Goalls

    2. Personal visibility: can be viewed by the goal's assignee and any other specific roles, e.g. the person's direct manager, per the permissions set in the organization

9. To create a key result, click on the + Add new button
a. Enter your key result in the Name field
b. Select the way in which the key result will be assessed using the Measure by dropdown:
i. Percentage: to measure the key result out of 100%
ii. Numeric: to measure the key result by an amount
1. Enter a Target number
iii. Currency: to measure the key result by a specific currency amount
1. Select a currency Type from the dropdown
2. Enter a Target number
iv. Complete/Incomplete: to measure the key result by whether it was completed or not

c. Click Save
d. Repeat this to add all of your key results

10. Align your goal to your company and department’s goals by selecting a goal from the Aligned to dropdown.
Note: The goals are pulled from the Company and Department's Goals section in bob
11. Click on the Tags dropdown to easily classify and sort goals
a. Use an existing tag:
i. Select a tag from the list by ticking the box to its left

ii. Repeat as needed

iii. Click Apply
b. Add a new tag to the list:
i. Click on Edit list

ii. Click on the + Add button. A text field will appear

iii. Enter the tag
iv. Click on the Done button
v. Repeat as needed
vi. Follow the steps in a. Use an existing tag to add the new tag
c. Remove a tag from the list:
i. Click on Edit list

ii. Hover over the tag you wish to delete

iii. Press the trash icon on the right hand of the tag
iv. Click on the Done button
v. Repeat as needed
vi. Click on the Save button
12. Once you're done creating your goal, click on the Save button

Notes:

  • Numeric and currency type measures must be whole numbers of 1 or above

  • Only those with admin-level permissions create, edit, and delete tags

  • Depending on permissions, people will also be able to view and edit the goal via People's Goals.
