My Goals in bob allows you to manage and collaborate with your manager on your own individual goals clearly and easily. Learn how to create personal goals per quarter(s), a specific date range, or year.

Note: Access to this capability is managed by your company's HR admin. If you do not have access and believe you should, reach out to them.

How to create a new individual goal in bob

bob will guide you in creating your goal step-by-step. During the goal creation you'll be able to set your objective, key results, timeframe, and visibility as well as align it with higher-level goals in your department and/or company. You can create a new goal either by starting from scratch or by duplicating a previously created goal.

How to create a goal from scratch in My Goals

To create a new goal in bob, follow these steps:

  1. Press the Talent area in the main menu

  2. Click on My Goals

  3. Click on + New goal to create a new goal.

  4. Enter your objective in the Name field

  5. Provide a Description of the objective

6. Click on the field under Time frame to set when you'd like to achieve the goal. Choose from two ways:
a. Preset range:
i. Choose the desired period from the list
Note: "Next year" in bob means the January of the next calendar year
ii. Click Apply
b. Date range
i. Click the radio button to the left of Date range
ii. Click on the field below Start date to select the beginning of your desired date range from the calendar
c. Click on the field below End date to select the end of your desired date range from the calendar
d. Click Apply

7. Select the goal's Visibility by clicking on the radio button to the left of the chosen option

a. Shared visibility: only visible to people in the organization per the permissions set in the company, and may be accessed using People's Goals

b. Personal visibility: can be viewed by the goal's assignee and any other specific roles, e.g. the person's direct manager, per the permissions set in the organization

8. To create a key result, click on the + Add new button in the Key results section
a. Enter your key result in the Name field
b. Select the way in which the key result will be assessed using the Measure by dropdown:

i. Percentage: to measure the key result out of 100%
ii. Numeric: to measure the key result by an amount
1. Enter a Target number
iii. Currency: to measure the key result by a specific currency amount
1. Select a currency Type from the dropdown
2. Enter a Target number
iv. Complete/Incomplete: to measure the key result by whether it was completed or not
c. Click Add
d. Repeat as needed

Note: numeric and currency type measures must be whole numbers of 1 or above

9. Align your goal to your company and department’s goals by selecting a goal from the Aligned to dropdown.
Note: The goals are pulled from the Company and Department's Goals section in bob
10. Add tags to your goal to easily classify and sort goals by clicking on the Tags dropdown

a. Select any relevant tags from the list by ticking the box to their left
b. Click Apply
10. Once you're done creating your goal, click on the Save button

How to duplicate and customize an existing goal in My Goals

To create a new goal in bob by copying and customizing using a previous goal in bob, follow these steps:

  1. Press the Talent area in the main menu

  2. Click on My Goals

  3. Click on the three dot menu to the right of the goal you wish to copy

  4. Select Duplicate. All of the goal's settings will be copied.
